SEX AS LOVE

"Sex as love is love- for those on a search without a search light." - Shihan

I was having a conversation with a new friend of mine, Modi, and I looked at him and asked "why???" "Why have sex without love? What does it do for you?" He shrugged and said something to the effect that its better than your hand.... But is the satisfaction lasting? Or is it just temporary? Why do we cheat ourselves out of something great for something quick and often fleeting? Yeah it's easy to find someone who just wants that sexual release, no strings attached, but why are we so afraid of the strings? Is it the pain, heart break, tears that we are afraid of? Life ain't easy...why would love be?
The nature of sex provides a physical, deep (hopefully) connection between two people. Why wouldn't you want an emotional AND physical connection? Isn't sex so much better that way? When you love the person??? When you really love the person - so much so that you wouldn't want to be anywhere else, doing anything else, doing anyone else? Love is the search light that guides sex to the right path. They can't be separated and love, the leader, must come first.
COMMENT PLEASE! and answer my questions - give me your opinions...

Having sex is so personal, even yes I'm saying it, oral sex. In the heat of the moment with a random person, sex seems like the way to go because you don't feel like you missed out. Besides, "why not?". After its all done, you throw your clothes back on and head out the door so quick because you can't really believe what you did, how you let things get that far, and you don't want others to know how easy you were. That's when you start wishing that you slept with the guy or girl you really want to be with, and how much better being sensual/having sex with them would have been. Is this horrible feeling after casual sex really worth it? All I can say is have patience, don't always give in to your carnal urges (especially when you know it won't take you anywhere) and get to know the person first. Quality is always better than quantity.

Why have sex without love?... I can understand on some level the need to satisfy whatever desires one can have at that time without a connection... but it's a quick fix. On some level (even the smallest level) we become attached to the person, we do... we don't walk away from sex without thinking about the person. Sex just for the sake of sex is pleasureable, of course (hopefully!) but it is so LACKING. Maybe im a hopeless romantic but sometimes you need the long glances of "I love you", gimme the candles, gimme the flower petals, gimme the "lets jus lay here", gimme love walking hand in hand with sex.
